Use a normal marker, non permanent. Write over the marks on the board, perhaps leave for a few minutes then wipe hard. Repeat if needed.

I did the exact same thing last week- accidentally used a permanent marker instead of the dry-erase *oops*!!
I got it off within about 10 seconds using my trusty Mr Clean Magic Eraser- came off like nothing!

Two thoughts--try the Mr. Clean Magic eraser. I swear by this product!! It got skid marks off my walls, and greasy fingerprints from doorways and the refrigerator. Also, office supply stores such as Office Depot sell a spray to clean dry erase boards. It works very good to clean the ink that builds up after much use.

Mr Clean Magic eraser. Just did it, and it worked great. Got the ink off of the plastic edges too.

You can try acetone if you can find it. If not, then use aerosol gun cleaner. This is the same ingredient in dry cleaning solvent, and it will remove most inks.
