what are the seven elements of paintings?

I always mixed up the elements of art & the principles of design but I think the elements are:

line
colour
contrast/value/tone (light & dark)
texture
composition
perspective
unity/balance
variety

pattern
repetition (I think those are design principles...)

it's been a few years since high school art class when I learned them! Now I just paint without really thinking about the rules, just doing it!
