Well, it's kinda weird don't you think?
'01: Eddie George followed up by having a bad season, and him and the Titans finished 3rd in the division and missed the playoffs
'02: Culpepper got injured, had horrible numbers, and the Vikes had their worst record since 1986
'03: Marshall Faulk battles injuries, and horrible numbers in his following season, the Rams miss the playoffs, and Faulk has his worst season since '96
'04: Mike Vick breaks his leg a day after Madden'04 goes onto the shelves. The Falcons go on to win a whopping 5 games and finish nearly dead last
'05: Ray Lewis almost broke the curse.....until he broke his hand and missed one or two games. The Ravens didn't do too poorly, they made the playoffs.....but Lewis still got injured, it was also the only season he failed to record an INT in his career
'06: Donovan McNabb finds out why he's not a defensive player when he gets flattened by a Cowboys defensive lineman after throwing a pick. He's out for a few weeks, and the Eagles go from the Super Bowl to missing the playoffs.
'07: Shaun Alexander breaks his foot and is sidelined for at least a few weeks, no sign yet on how it will affect the Seahawk's season.
Will it happen next year? Who knows, but it's kind of an eerie coincidence don't you think? I mean 7 years in a row?

I dont ever have faith in the madden curse, i've got faith that they have been putting some overvalued or old gamers on the conceal. Ray Lewis is overvalued - all he ever does is administered and dive in on piles and gets credit for the address. Vince youthful this season, he's the main overvalued QB in the NFL b/c he would desire to be between the worst. look at his numbers, they're horrendous. 9 TD's to sixteen INT's? He wasnt even stable final season statistically. Eddie George became old and coming to the tip of his profession. Michael Vick became consistently overvalued, despite if he didnt get harm he might have had a destructive 3 hundred and sixty 5 days like consistently. He couldnt throw the ball 4 ft with any accuracy, thrilling ill admit that, yet a terrible QB. Donovan McNabb has consistently been overvalued and he's often been harm companies. He wasnt something particular till TO got here to city and made him look like Randall Cunningham. McNabb is decent at ultimate, the clarification the Eagles went to maximum of NFC championship video games is b/c the NFC sucked and their protection became stacked. end of tale. There isnt a madden curse. positioned LT on it, i assure he has a monster season nonetheless. positioned Brady up there, i assure he doesnt conflict. How abt Manning? He wouldnt have a bad season b/c of it.

I wouldnt want any of my Bears on there cover, thats for sure...
2007 - Shaun Alexander - Broken foot
2006 - Donavan McNabb - Sports Hernia & T.O.
2004 - Marshall Faulk - Ankel Injury and 1st season without 1000yds (decline of his career)
2002- Daunte Culpepper - Worse Season that he had in years up till the last few.
2001 & 2005- Eddie George & Ray Lewis missed the curse.....
John Madden was on the Cover himself from the begining to 89'

Yes, it's happened too many times to totally discount it. And I think Alexander should try and just recover for now, because we all say that the more Donovan tried to play with his sports hernia, the curse fought so hard that it also attacked Daunte Culpepper (it couldn't let him have another season like he did in 2004).
My prediction is that if it doesn't take Alexander soon, it will probably go to Tiki Barber.

Haha do i believe in the Madden Curse?? Nope, I think players get in their head that they are on the cover of Madden and it's like a mind game they play with themselves. Or its all coincedence

You can't believe superstitions...thats all they are. But it is kinda weird isnt it? Every player on the cover has had some bad injury? I remember watching an interview with Alexander and they asked if he was afraid of it. He just said, if he gets hurt, thats part of the game. I think that too. But its always nice to have that weird "what if?" to the cover. I can't wait to see who it'll be next year

Yeah, although like all curses it is self-fulfilling prophecy.
Actually Eddie George went from an all-pro to a nothing that season. Also the first year they put players on it was none other then Barry Sanders, who abruptly retired.

o ya ,the person on the cover either gets hurt that year or has a career ending bad season and most dont bounce back but Mike Vick luckily did, but looks as though Shaun might brake it this year, but i don't wanna jinx him its a long year

Pure nonsense. And I've watched Madden since he coached the Oakland Raiders back in the '60's. God Bless you.

Yep, if they asked me to be on the cover I would tell them to get bent! But it is a great game.
