Clean the drain from the kitchen sink with a sink snake. A vacuum breaker is never installed in a line to sewer. Williethegod is full of himself. If cleaning the drain doesn't fix your problem get a licensed plumber (not willie) to check it out.

make sure part of the drain line from the DISHWASHER is elevated above the level of the garbage disposal inlet (where the dishwashers drain should be attached) this is usually done by running it over the top of the dishwasher or suspending it from part of the cabinet.

bet yours is on the floor behind. should be an easy fix.

air gap is your next step if the drain hose is ok.

Just take the drain line thats coming from the disposal, Use a string or anything u can find to tie the drain line to the water line.

Note: The drain line will have enough slack to pull it up. I have done this 100's of times in old apartment complex's

Either your dishwasher needs a vacuum breaker on it's drain or the drains are installed incorrectly such that an elevation difference allows backflow. Probably the former but ,in either case, get a plumber.

Hi, It sounds like you have a lot of blockage in your out let pipe. What I do is let the cold water run while you have the garbage disposal on for a minute or so . Shut off disposal off ,keeping cold water running for another minute or so.This procedure should clear your lines for you to wash your dishes.Good Luck-ROSCO

You need to install an airgap or vaccum breaker. You can find ones to match your sink or faucets at most harware stores or showrooms. My fave plumbing website is faucetdirect.com. Great prices and selections. I have never had a bad experience with them.

you've only one water line going to a D/W.....it really is a warm water line ...only..... appears like the line is clogged......for the reason that a dish washer makes use of only "warm" water if the water isn't fairly sturdy treated water....the lines have a tendency to get clogged commonly
