Hi
First its Komodo Dragons also known as the Komodo Monitor.

Komodo's are Lizards and live often over 50 years. They could almost be considered a Land Crocodile.

They are mostly oppotunistic carnivores, which means they prefer to take advantage of already injured prey over hunting it down. They are predators 2nd, though.

When they do hunt and attack ,.. it is unlikely the prey will be killed in the attack... but rather get away injured from the bite or bites and slowly die in a matter of days or even hourse from the bacteria in the initial bites.

Komodo's have an unreal amount of the nastiest bacteria on earth in thier saliva.

If a human was to be bitten , they are nto going to be killed by the Komodo right there unless for some reason they were to fall and become unconscious ,.. then yes a Komodo, actually many would feed on them.
But otherwise the worry is dying of the infected bite later.

Komodo's have a bad rep as man eaters that just is not true.

But a Komodo will eat just about any type of meat it can get, kill or find,, even rotten carrion,, a fave among them and partly why they have the levels of bacteria in the mouths they have.

SO to answer you question..
Yes they would eat a human if it was unable to move away from them because it was already dead or unconcious.. otherwise they are not going to run up and attack a human and hunt it..

They will attack if they feel threatened , or if the human is in thier territory bothering them.. any animal would.

Hope that helps.

I think that the real name is Komodo dragons

Komodo dragons are first and foremost opportunistic carnivores, and predators second. Although the Komodo can sprint briefly at 20 kilometers an hour, it does not chase down game as do the larger mammalian predators. The Komodo is a stealth predator, which lies motionless and camoflouged alongside game trails for the unwary, which tend to be the very young, the old and the infirm. In an attack, the Komodo lunges at its victim with blinding speed and clasps it with the serrated teeth of the jaw. Prey are rarely downed in the initial attack unless the neck is broken or caratoid artery severed. The more likely outcome is escape, followed by death a few hours or days later from septicemia introduced by the virulent strains of bacteria found in the saliva of the Komodo dragon (the Komodo survive primarily on carrion and ingest the bacteria when feeding).

So, yes, they can eat humans! Take care!

"Kimono dragons"? I think you mean "Komodo dragons".

Anyway, DO Komodo dragons eat humans? No. CAN Komodo dragons eat humans? Yes.

Komodo dragons can eat up to 80% of their own body weight and since they can weigh anywhere between 300 and 360 pounds, that's a whole lotta meat.

Komodo dragons ARE known for attacking humans and a Komodo that is desperate and/or hungry enough WILL feed off of human flesh. However, it's very rare to hear of such a thing.

What makes Komodos so dangerous is their saliva. Since Komodos feed off of meat and dead carcasses, and aren't really big fans of brushing and flossing, their mouth is disgustingly filled with numerous amounts of bacteria. A single bite can kill an animal in as little as a few hours. They're not poisonous...the bitten animal will basically die of rapid infection.

Komodo dragons are opportunistic and will eat just about anything, and humans are no exception. They hunt by lying in wait and when the victim comes within range they bite. Their saliva has so much bacteria that the wound becomes infected and the dragon just follows it's prey around until it dies or becomes too sick to move. This usually takes days, so its not a pleasant way to go.

Very young children would definitely be at risk. They are very agressive and large reptiles and are very capable of trying to eat full grown humans, which would without a doubt, cause an unnecessary trip to the hospital and several stitches. Kimodo dragons are better off in the wild or in a zoo.

KOMODO dragon. A kimono is a dress worn by Japanese women....

They are large enough to kill a person. I suppose they could eat one if they wanted to. But they tend to stick to little children and goats.

They could, they wouldn't be able to eat a whole human, but could eat a baby or small child, or a goat. Could definetly kill an adult though.

Yeah its komodo dragon, kimono are those dresses that Japanese geishas wear.
