I am curious on other methods of slowing down the speed of time realitive to the observer. Like being on Jupiter would slow down time because of it 23 times Earths gravity so I suspect. Has anybody thought of sending a probe onto Jupiter to find out? I know aproaching the speed of light also slows down time too. Black holes would. Is there any other way to slow down time other then being in a crushing gravity well or being crushed by increasing velocity in a space ship.
Is there another way to slow down or to stop time completely. No video or sped up film for an answer. I think I have a solution to this problem but I need to ask if I anyone else has come up with an answer better then my own. Think about it.

Build your own time machine! Its better than slowing down time, especially if you get to come back!
OK, I thought it was funny!

John...
I've thought about this for 20 years. My conclusion...

Time does not exist. It's a variable invented to help complete math equations. Einstein stated that everyone experiences time in his own way. It's a hard concept to grasp... time not existing, but... with there being so many different experiences with time, (to each their own) and given E=mc2, which means we'll never be able to move at the speed of light, how can one assume that time is real? Why can't things just "happen"? Why must there be intervals to lable events...?

Time slows as you approach the speed of light. This has been observed with satellites and high precision clocks contained inside.

There are other relativistic effects that occur when moving fast, such as an increase in mass and a reduction in length along the direction of movement.

The only way is to travel at or near the speed of light or do so relatively by jumping dimensions. Think about a ZigZag wrapper with the long edges nearly meeting. Is it faster to go around from one rim to the other or to jump across?

Did you watch the first episode of Heroes?

You can not slow down time, you have to change the clock!

Have fun but be safe!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm there is no other way to do it. just speed and gravity those are the only things that can deform space-time. energy but that is not a good example.
