you can't blame what happened in colombine on the whole state people in colorado are just as horrifed about school bombings as you are. It was just the luck of the draw that it happened in Colorado.

Over the past 20 years I've lived in a number of different places (NC, FL, CA, TX, Atlanta, GA and now Denver CO). It hasn't seemed to me that people here in Denver are any more psychotic and weird than anywhere else I've lived or visited (I've spent time in 45 of the 50 states).
The "most violent school shooting in history" had to occur some place. It could have occurred anywhere in any state. There have been public shootings all over the country, in schools, in post offices, in McDonalds. From Maine, to Florida, to Texas, to California and many, many other states as well. The fact that the shooting that took the most lives took place in Denver is just chance. I don't believe the people here are any different than anywhere else.

It might be the people in Colorado but for the most part it's not Coloradoans. EVERYBODY comes here. We get the California nut cases, the Texas nut cases, we went through our Illinois and New York nut case period. Colorado is like the melting pot of the melting pot. Unfortunately, all the nuts haven't dissolved. Of course, if you don't like people in Colorado that might be a good reason to stay away.

In all seriousness, it does seem that the crazies congregate area by area in cycles. For a time it seemed they were all in Texas, then all in California, now all in Colorado. I realize it may be coincidental and that one's awareness of where something happens may simply be heightened by having heard of some other incident in that area in the recent past. I also do not mean to offend anyone in any of the aforementioned areas. After all, my state could be next. Interesting topic.

Over the years, many people have moved to the Rocky Mountain region in pursuit of the elusive "good life." Some folks become disillusioned and fall into mental illness.
The vast majority of Coloradans are happy and well adjusted, but we certainly have our share of real "nut jobs." Matt Stone and Trey Parker draw upon some of these bizarre characters for their animated television series "South Park."

If you think Colorado is psychotic and weird, you should try California.
