I posted a question a few minutes ago for all those who are pro-choice. I included a picture of an aborted baby/fetus. Someone said (and you know who you are) "You have no idea what you're looking at. That could've been an abortion that happened because the mother's life was in danger." Okay, well I DO know what I'm looking at. I'm looking at a child who's head was sliced off. Maybe the mom's life was in danger--but that child looks big enough to survive outside the womb...maybe they should've tried to help it survive on it's own before they ripped it's head off. Why do people still support this?!!

Some people just don't have values, maybe that's the way they were brought up. I don't think abortion is ever an option. Some people just need to really think about it and understand that it is killing someone even if it's just a tiny little baby which might not really look like a human being.

I'm absolutely anti-abortion. I can't bear to think of a child's life being taken away. But, being pregnant right now, I am set to tears so easily that I couldn't bear to see that picture. Lately I cry at everything then I throw up because of my hysterics. Last night I was watching Scrubs and at the end we find out that the ladies son had died. I cried so hard, it was as if I just lost my son, I threw up everything I had eaten 3 hours prior. I don't support abortion, but I also can't honestly handle pictures like that right now. What I think would be a better image, is pictures of babies early in development, with all the things they can do. I'm 11 weeks, and I'm amazed at how much is already functioning in my sweet baby. Most people are turned off by pictures like that, it's like negative advertising that is done by the politicians. It honestly doesn't change people's minds. You need to influence people with positive images, show them that a baby that is only a couple weeks along already have most their body parts, some are sucking their thumbs. I love the picture of the surgery someone did (it was not an abortion) where the baby reached out and grabbed the doctor's thumb.

I don't know what gestational age that baby was.. At any rate.. I feel that it probably would have had a very very hard time surviving without some form of life support. I come to that assumption based on its hands/feet and lack of any body fat..

That picrture also appears very very dated.. Maybe the person who said you don't know what you're looking at is because you don't really know what you're looking at...

What if that was a mother who gave birth and mutilated her baby and left it somewhere?

I don't believe it's common practice to completely remove the head of a baby during an abortion.. I know partial births (which are no longer allowed) punctured the head and removed the brain.. thus stopping any chance of a first breath once the baby was delivered...

Perhaps you should show photos of babies aborted at the proper gestational age.... I believe it's more common to have an abortion when the fetus is the size of a quarter/50 cent piece then at the size of your photo... which, we still have no idea if that's an abortion photo... a back alley abortion.. or perhaps a mutilated baby... so how old is that child?

First of all, you need to stop trying to insight fights on here, because it's ridiculous. Nobody's views are going to change because you bash them or show them nasty pictures.

Interestingly enough, statistics show that whether you are pro-choice or pro-life has almost no bearing on whether or not you will get an abortion if faced with an unplanned pregnancy.

Second, you need to understand that the issue of pro-choice vs. pro-life is a two-fold problem. It has a political argument (practical application) and a moral argument as well.

Now I will grant you that having an abortion because you don't want stretch marks is an appalling thing to do. Morally reprehensible. And in most cases adoption is a better idea. There are certain instances, however, where a woman should not be expected to carry a baby to full term, like in cases of rape, incest, or where the life of the mother is at stake. We "pro-abortionists" aren't running around telling everyone to kill their babies. We are supporting a right to choose what we do with our bodies, and we realize that once the government starts fooling around with our rights, they tend to go too far. Most of us are just as likely to get outraged at certain cases of abortion as you pro-lifers. We're not saying it's a moral responsibility to kill our unborn children, or even that it's not a terrible thing when you do. Just that we'd like to maintain our rights.

The political argument is far different. The fact of the matter is that whether abortion is legal or not, the amount of abortions occurring remains the SAME, and the number of women dying from botched abortions every year raises tremendously. People are going to do anyway, so we need to regulate it and make sure the effects of it happening aren't any worse than they already are. Legally, the matter is one of practicality.

Beyond that, how many girls who have no business having kids (ones they never wanted, I might add) will there be who will refuse to give up their kids? How many people do you think would have their kids if abortion were illegal but continue using drugs or alcohol, bringing babies who will have no quality of life whatsoever into the world?

It would be great if we lived in a world where everyone would step up to their responsibilities as parents and only have sex if they wanted a child- but the fact of the matter is that we don't.

We don't think it's a good thing to kill babies... we just realize some things are worse than death.

Most likely, if the baby was big... it was because the mothers life was endanger or the fetus had something wrong in which it probably would have died after birth anyway... (or it could be in another country in which sometimes that does occur). In America, they only abort a fetus after 3 months if something is seriously wrong or the fetus died in the womb and they need to take it out... which is another possiblity.

And I would like to second what tzstylin said... its not your problem. You don't have to live with that choice. When the mother who aborted that fetus dies and goes to heaven, she'll be the one who has to answer to god. Not you.

I can't even look at those pictures. It breaks my heart. I'm sure that I could find a good family for everybody's baby that is going to be aborted. Babies can feel when they are in the womb. They are human, too. Anybody that aborts in a murderer, and they will know that and feel it for the rest of their lives, even if they can't admit it. I agree with you. Whatever is meant to happen will happen, even if the mom's life is in danger. My life was in extreme danger with all three of my pregnancies. One of my babies died early in the pregnancy which was very sad, and I have 2 healthy beautiful girls, who I am enjoying every day with.

I am against abortion. I am 22 weeks pregnant, and That picture made me sick to my stomach. You should have put a warning on there for those of us who love children. But I think you need to just back off the whole abortion question. I am glad you support what you support, but it is not worth knowing how many murderers out there, that there are. It just causes the people who are wrong to complain. (i have had an abortion before and that was the worst decision of my life, and I would do anything to take it back. But it is to late for that.) I was wrong. I know it.

What you have shown us is a partial birth abortion. A quote from that same page is "it is not surprising that 65 percent of those who call themselves 'pro choice' are opposed to 'partial birth abortion'" I personally am not pro either way, but I do feel you have no right judging someone, you are not God. What if that fetus came from the violated body of an adolescent girl raped by her father? Who are you to judge!?

I agree,. One more thing though is that most abortions are not the one's where the mother's life is in danger. How can someone support killing a baby before it has a chance to choose it's own life's course. they say it is a mother's choice what she does whith her body, but it is not just her body it is another person's body too. Also abortions can cause a woman to become sterril or worse. most women who have abortions regret it lter and go through extream depression.

I have two children and HATE abortion and the people who get them......unless it is really truly an life or death situation for the mother.....like if the mother is under the age of 9 or the pregnancy truns out to be a tubal and is causing internal bleeing to the mother......other then that i think women who get abortions need to be put in prison for life for muder because that is what abortion is. Lazy girls and women who want to party it up and don't want the responsibility of parenthood who go and get abortions deserve to rot in prison.....lazyness is no excuse to kill a tiny little life. and the men out there who demand that women they got pregnant to get abortions need to burn at the stake!!!
