Because the government is in the hands of men whose faith in themselves is unshakable.

It does not matter one bit to them that Iraq had no involvement in 9/11, that Iraq had no weapons programs or weapons stockpiles of any kind, that the terrorists are actually in Afghanistan (not Iraq), or that the intelligence agencies have said the war in Iraq is helping to create terrorists.

These men believe they are right, even though the evidence is overwhelming that they are not. The fact that they believe they are right, however, is reason enough to stay.

The WMD argument became into rather in simple terms an excuse the Bush administration believed the yankee human beings might settle for as a valid reason of going to war in Iraq. area of the respond would have had some thing to do with unfinished enterprise of the previous President Bush. yet there's a third threat, which no person might ever be prepared to debate. My theory is this: some year earlier the initiating of the 2nd war in Iraq, the two Colin Powel and President Bush got here out publicly in prefer or a unfastened Palistinian state. This rankled the Israelis to no end, and Ariel Sharon instructed Bush that if the two of them stored speaking some unfastened Palestinian state then he (Israel) might kill each and every final between the Palestinians and end the difficulty as quickly as and for all. at recent Bush and Powel dropped the project of a unfastened Palestinian state and you by no potential heard yet another peep approximately it for over a year. Ariel Sharon made yet another call for on an identical time; that for the time of substitute for permitting the Palestinians to stay, the U. S. might would desire to circulate in and end the Iraqi probability to Israel. So decrease than tension from the Israelis, who had to end a minimum of one risk-free practices probability, the U. S. became into compelled to invade Iraq and end the SCUD missile probability to Israel. Had the U. S. not achieved that, then it would weren't common-pressed to describe to the yankee human beings why it became into status by potential of and allowing mass-execution of the Palestinians by potential of the Israelis. (The Jewish foyer interior the U. S. would not have allowed the administration or Congress to return out against the strikes of the Israelis. the U. S. is hamstrung whilst it consists of taking ANY place against the Jewish state.) it rather is a theory which would be denied by potential of every physique yet makes extra sense than believing that the Iraqis had ANY weapon which would be a probability to the U. S.. A probability to Israel, surely... yet to the U. S.? No way.

For a long time Iraq was at war with America's enemy, Iran. When it became obvious that Iraq could not defeat Iran, the US decided that it'd be best not to "send a boy to do a man's job", so America occupied Iraq with the intention, after building plenty of military bases, of going after Iran with our own army, instead of using Saddam's incompetent proxy army. All other so-called "reasons" are just smoke and mirrors, IMO. Unfortunately, the incompetence of our own army (via Rumsfeld) wasn't taken into account.

Only Congress has the power to declare war. Congress has not done that. Iraq is about Money and Power. It is also about OIL.
Iraq is in civil war now and only a idiot would say they are not in civil war, like Bush or his cronies. There are 1.3 billion who follow Islam, does anyone in there right mind think we can kill them all without Nukes? I do not. Now 65 percent of Americans now think Iraq is in civil war. Rumsfeld just said "we have a good idea of how many are being killed in Iraq". Before he said "we do not do body counts".
2/3 of Americans now do not support the war.

George Bush or some of his adviser knew that if they started a war in Iraq that the price of oil and the profits from it would go up. George Bush is and oil man and his family is invested in it. They are enriching themselves at the cost of thousands of lives.

1. Bush needed to look "tough on terror" for his re-election.
2. Oil companies wanted access to their oil.
3. Defense contractors wanted the billions in supplies, etc. they're making
4. Bush wanted revenge on the guy that threatened his daddy.

No other reasons.
