I've read the early Anita Blake books and really marvel at Hamilton's ability to create a contemporary society and incorporate vampires, werewolves and other scary creatures. Anita Blake is gutsy and the books are action packed.
I haven't read the later ones from the series yet, but I've heard that the emphasis on sexuality makes them quite different.

Hamilton is a fun author. You might also be interested in books by Tanya Huff, Charlaine Harris and Rachel Caine.

I have an idea, why don't you rephrase your question to 'What do you think of Meredith Gentry or Anita Blake series?' When you are asking has anyone read books that are printed in the millions, it sounds rather inane, don't you think?
