I am in my early 20's and have never tried birth control, but now I want to. But I have no insurance. Is there anywhere I can go to get birth control for free/cheap. I also have never been to the gynecologist. Is it really as scary as my friends make it seem?

Planned Parenthood is probably the best place for you to go. What you pay is based on what your income is. The service you get is good too. The nurses are very knowledgeable and there are women nurse practioners

If you don't have insurance, the best place to go would be a Planned Parenthood. It's free but they do ask for donations or whatever you can spare (if you're working that is) but it's not required.

Going to a gynecologist isn't scary. I think it's mainly being nervous/anxiety of what's going to happen etc. If you relax you'll be fine.

If you live in the United States then just look up the number for a "Planned Parenthood" or "Family Planning" clinic in your area, give them a call and they will tell you exactly what to do to get cheap and even free birth control.
