First of all I am sorry for your loss....I am also sorry that you were never seen by a doctor @ the 1st hospital....this being said, you left out a few details that I'm sure you paid no attention to and were totally irrelevant to you @ the time due to your situation....how busy was the hospital? how serious were the other people's injuries? emergency rooms work like this: we see patients requiring the most urgent care first...for instance...you having a miscarriage and bleeding like you were is more serious than someone that say, smashed his hand with a hammer, so you go first...but wait...an ambulance comes in with a lady having a major heart attack...you get bumped for her since she is more serious...OK so now you're next....but now someone that's been in a car accident and is unresponsive is brought in.....you get bumped back again....see where I'm going with this? on behalf of healthcare professionals everywhere I apologize for you not being treated in a timely and precise manner.....but there may have been extenuating circumstances that you did not pay any attention to (and you shouldn't have...you were dealing with your own issues @ the time) but that the nurses and doctors were fully aware of.....also...to the untrained eye a little blood ( I know with a miscarriage it was wayyyyyy more than a little, trust me)seems to look like buckets of it but really it's not....I'm sorry for your bad ER experience during such a trying time and again I'm sorry for your loss....also...if u were thinking that it was just regular menstrual cramps...and all you passed was a big clot there was nothing that could have been done to save your baby (sorry sad but true..no chance of life until after 24weeks) and the staff knew that...they should have informed you better...

this would not take place In Canada the place I stay even interior the city of Ottawa which has extremely undesirable centers whilst in comparison with the Toronto area. Ottawa has international class coronary heart surgeons and a coronary heart surgery construction it fairly is new. Its referred to as the midsection institute. that's between the main suitable places interior the international to have coronary heart surgery, much greater advantageous than many American hospitals like Mayo medical institution etc. yet thats the place it stops, something of the well being facility sucks because of the fact that's underfunded. you may extremely evaluate shifting so someplace like canada or switzerland or sweden etc, france has some stable hospitals too, all unfastened. the main suitable hospitals are in all probability in Germany or the Netherland, yet thats my opinion. In Ottawa you likely wouldve waited 4-7 hours and can've have been given your ultrasound and well being care expert opinion and been despatched dwelling house devoid of loss of mone,y, different than 13 $ parking which sucks notwithstanding it helps develop mney for the well being facility....

Since you went to an emergency room and declared it was an emergency especially since you had a miscarriage, I don't believe the treated you fairly. As much bleeding as you stated, you could have lost your life or passed out. When you bleed perfusely your body starts to shut down on you because you do not have enough blood to circulate throughout your body. So you should try and ask for legal help if you plan on trying to do something about it. If not, then there's nothing much you can do now because it was an emergency room and there could have been reasons as to why you could not be seen right away. Hopefully you are ok because I've also had one and it's not a pretty picture.

i would call a lawyer and tell them exactly what you just typed.
emergency rooms take in the most people in need first and a miscarraige should be up on the top number one priority in a emergency room... call a lawyer. if you do not have the money for a lawyer there are some lawyers who will give a free consultation before taking your case and also some that do not get paid until you do.

Not much you can do. You were going to miscarry, there was nothing the hospital could have done. Why didn't you call your Dr.? I would have never sat there and waited that long.

I'm really sorry you had to go through that. Honestly no one should have to wait like that.

First, write a letter to administration giving all of the specifics(time date medical record #) and demand an answer in writing. If they try to blow you off, tell them that you are calling the local news channel's consumer advocate to register a complaint. Hospitals HATE bad publicity. If this fails it's time for a good lawyer. Good luck and feel better.

none,I have had 2 and their is not anything they can do about it,if you are miscarring that's whats going to hap pin, they don't like to do anything unless you are having some sort of problem with it,like for instance not passing it,them they have to do a d and c.They could not have saved you baby. They could have given you some different clothes and pads, but other than that all they could have done is offered pain killers. So if you trying to blame them don't.Miscarriages just happen, and their is not any thing you can do about it.

I['m sorry for your loss. I would get the best lawyer I could find and make them pay for their mistakes. When you enter a hospital E-room and there is blood present, you shouldn't have to wait for the cows to come home from Texas to be seen. Good luck, and again, I'm sorry for your loss.

Every hospital by law has a patient advocate. Use the service. The P.A. is your "health lawyer" so to speak, for your rights. I would check into filing a lawsuit for wreckless endangerment.
