Until my 45th birthday two weeks ago, I was proud to say I never owned, nor did I ever want a cell phone. I've always been vocal about that, but I guess husbands just don't listen, cause that was my birthday gift. I think they're a great idea in the event of an emergency, but if you don't want to be accessible 24/7, then don't give your # out, or just turn it off. If you're not going to use it often, get one of those phones (mine is Virgin Mobile) whereby you "pay as you go along". You can buy cards at Best Buy, or "top off your minutes" by using your credit card. But to answer your question.....no, they're not all that!

Yes I do. I have verizon and i have the LG8300 and i love it. I have had a cell phone for years and i still love mine. I feel completely lost without it. But only get one if you feel you are really ready. And really check into the plan that you are getting to make sure you are getting the right one for you.

YES i like my cell btw! lol. if you like talking on the phone then buy one, if you are not at home alot and alot of people call you buy one, if you wish you could call someone but you aren't at home.... then buy one, but if don't think it is real necessary to have one and you think it would be a waste of money cuz you would prolly never use it... then don't buy it. And i think you should buy the new Chocolate from Verizon! if you like to listen to music! cuz i luv to listen to music and thats what phone i want! but i am stuck with just a plain cell phone that doesn't play music....*tears* good luck deciding!!!!!

I do and it's very useful. I don't think you should buy one only because everyone has one, though. I need it because my boyfriend and I live in different cities and we are both always on the run, so this is the only way we could talk.

get a motorolla razr it has a camera and u can store all sorts of interesting pictures....
i have unlimited calling plan from Cellular One for like $60 a month u can call anyone anytime anywhere but Im not sure what they have to offer over in Germany...

I don't have a cell phone, they are useless in my area. All the teenagers have them although they can only use them about 5% of the time.

It helps me maintain a somewhat decent social life, as I can't be home to talk on the phone 24/7.

Try a prepaid phone such as net ten. The contract phones can rip you off. I used to have one then switched to prepay.
