You should not plant now during the winter or fall. Start to plant it in the spring or early summer. You should have a patch for it and some poles for the strings to climb up and spread. The soil should be good, you can add plant food for them if you want but only once in a while, once every 2 to 3 months. Water it every day and let the soil surrounding it get some water. Do not water it on rainy days.

They don't like frost. Slugs love them. They need a moist soil, not too much nitrogen (they make their own). Keep picking the beans, as they stop flowering once they have set seed. Watch out for aphids.
