I've been accused of it, but never thought I was. What does high and mighty mean anyway? I suppose it's when you feel smarter and stronger and more right than anyone else. Maybe I did feel a little high and mighty after winning a big spelling bee contest or after writing a poem I was proud of.....I think it is usually said to someone when they are jealous. Like, how do you get off being so "high and mighty."

Shameful answer is yes, most of the time. High and mighty has to do with feeling superior (which I am) and not listening to other people's points of view (which I rarely do). It's not a characteristic one should boast about, although most people who are high and mighty do, including me. Know one's self!

Yes, and I can tell you exactly when. When one of my answers has really helped someone move through a major problem here on Yahoo! Answers. Nothing is so much of a "lift" as getting that acknowledgment that your thoughts have really lifted up another person's heart and made his life a lilttle easier, all around. Sent to you with good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.)

I've occasionally felt ten feet tall and bullet proof, but gave up trying to fly at about age 10, when LANDING became a serious issue, after soaring off the barn roof. I also had to drop and roll once to avoid having my back filled with Buckshot.

I'm very OK with Slow and Low now.

I was high and mighty in my nightie, reading the Blighty!

Blighty was an Amercian comic of the 1950's.

That was the name of a men's tailors in an earlier decade.
As was the 50 shilling tailors.
Then there was the 'window to watch'
What was the question ?

Sure, whenever some puny human asks some stupid question from their primitive, barely-evolved minds and I have to set them straight with my blinding logic and razor-sharp reasoning.

But this seldom happens more than a couple dozen times a day.
