Silver polish, or personally I'd take it in to a jeweler to get professionally cleaned, especially if it's old or really important to you. A jeweler can also tell you how to store it to help prevent future tarnishing.

There is a silver polish you can get at Ace Hardware Storecalled "Wright's Silver Cream Polish". It's about $5.00, but totally worth it!!! I used it on an old necklace and it's beautiful now.
Just wet the sponge included in the jar with warm water & and use the creme (creme will cause white spots on dark clothes). Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft sponge. You can do this as often as you need to, it doesn't harm the finish of the bracelet.
Use an old toothbrush to get into the little nooks and crannys.

Best thing to use is white toothpaste. Rub on, rub off. You will see all the tarnish come off on the cloth. Works great on gold too. Watch out using it on costume jewelry though, it may discolor it. Try it on the underside of the piece if you try it.
Oh and by the way, if you use straight rubbing alcohol on a toothbrush and brush your diamonds, czs, etc., it will make them sparkle. You can also soak the piece in vinegar to get rid of the stuff the alcohol and toothpaste doesn't get. Again, make sure you don't use this on opals or any soft gems or plastics gems.

rub on it with an eraser, it works really well on silver with designs stamped into it, that way you can rub off the top and still have the tarnish in the cracks. Plus there are no harmful chemicals to worry about.

All of the answers are really excellent, but you must remember that if a silver (or gold, platinum) is either very old or a very high quality, you could be damaging the piece; for this, you must use special polishes that you can purchase in any decent hardware store or some jewelry shops!

use a toothpaste (not the gel type) a cheap brand will do... have some of it on a semi wet cloth, gently rub it on the bracelet.... watch as the cloth becomes darker with tarnish, you may add in more toothpaste... rinse with hot water and dry with clean soft towel...

My friend says WD-40 works as well

Toothpaste and baking soda will scratch soft stones like pearls, turquoise and opals.

Believe it or not, moistened cigarette ashes polish silver very nicely.
My mother told me this one. I tried it on a tarnished piece of jewelry and it worked great.
After rubbing with the moistened ashes, just rinse with water and dry.

I have had silver jewelry and other sterling items in my home. I will use only Wright's silver cream, it's a polisher as well as cleaner. They've a toll-free # 1/800-922-2625; go to www.jawright.com to see other information.

Never use a toothbrush on sterling silver, the bristles, no matter how soft, will scratch its surface.
