There is a guy at my school who was promoted 1 grade. Even though there isn't much of an age difference he doesn't fit in. He acts superior even though clearly to all those around him he isn't. He thinks he is a genius, but since he's been promtoed he's just a tad bit smart. Trying to make conversation with him is almost impossible. He talks down to people. Only to add to his faults. he walks in an unusual manner. I feel bad for him. How can I help him?

Tell him how people really feel about him. Face to face, and not in front of anyone else, that would reduce it to a humiliating emotional attack. Tell him the reason you are telling him this is because he is holding himself back tremendously. Honestly, the biggest things we all have going for us is our personality. Anyone who tries to establish themselves socially on any other basis eventually crashes hard and burns bad. He obviously already is as far behind socially as he is ahead academicly. Another option is to talk to his parents instead and tell them the same thing.

He is just getting an ego trip but he realy feels insecure, singled out, and ridiculed. He is projecting his own insecurities on others by ways of his "superiority complex".......
Ask him, "who are you trying to convince?"

When he is rude or talks down to someone, tell him "It's probably a good thing you're not too condescending or anything".

When he acts like he thinks he is a genius, ask him if he's so smart, why can't he figure out how to build rapport with people?

If you can't hold a conversation with him, ask him if it is lonely up there or his self-imposed pedestal.

If you can't think of anything else to say, tell him to be careful, that his insecurity is showing.

Dang... i would talk to him sounds like he needs some disapline... i'ts wrong to treat people like that! so maybe he needs to be punished..
i mean even if he is a freaking genius or rich or both even famous... NOBODY NEEDS TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT...
if he is smart he will understand that your talking to him at this point and make it known that if it happends again or even if you get wind of it you will punish him... make him sit in thefront of the class infront of everyone.. kick him out of class... just because the kid is slightly younger don't mean you got to treat him any differnt then someone else in the class... wouldn't you yell at another student if he did that? also talk to his parents... they need to know offer idea's to help.. but what ever you do don't make the kid out to be the worst person to the parent they will get super defenceive...
showing that you care right now is the first step!
okay yes my spelling sucks.. so does this damn spell check! lol
so i hope you understand everything i wrote!
if not sorry for wasting your time!
Mad luv

tell your friend how you feel and let him know that he is making a fool at of himself by acting better then everyone and that if he keeps it up then he will have no friends and be hated by most. Tell him that just because he moved up a grade does not mean he has to be rude to the people who he calls "freinds"

If he's so fuc*in arrogant then why do you want to help him? Let him be, if he thinks he's superior. Or you could try showing him up in a debate-really make him feel stupid. That'll knock him off of his high-horse. Or you could just beat his monkey @ss.
