I think the reason some people hesitate to answer or look up to the right is because they are giving thought to the the question...not lying. And they twitch because they are shy and nervous around people ..not liars. This is stupid. If they sit there like a statue, I guess that they are being honest. LOL.

to tell a liar, i agree that if they are playing with something or looking around that isn't the true sign of a liar, even though a lot of liars do. Watch for sweating, or sentences that falter more than they should have. if you ask them stuff about the stuff they already told you, it gets harder for them to come up with stuff quickly and still keep their story straight. Unless they have something in their eye, rapid blinking is also a really good way to find them. If you ever catch yourself lying, study what you do and think, and use it to catch others. :)

usually when someone is lying their breathing becomes more rapid and shallow, they start fidgeting, and they cannot look you in the eye when lying. Another interesting thing is that when you ask someone a question and before they answer they'll look up and to the right like the lie is in the sky. I'm not sure why that is, but it's true...just a little something I learned in my psych class.

Some people are such convincing liars that only a lie detector can catch them. There are changes in blood pressure, breathing, and sweating that give them away, but you can't tell just be looking at them. Obvious liars get a smirk on their faces or can't look you in the eye. It's the habitual liars that are hard to catch.

Watch Anela's Eyes, the new show on tv if you can get it. She can tell if you are lying and is in the fbi I believe. You can tell because a person will not look at you in the eyes or if they do they usually won't blink. Some people do certain gestures everytime they lie, like poker players who bluff!Best wishes but I hope you do not use the techniques yourself!

I enjoy catching people in lies. I actually just keep asking questions and I'll get more and more specific until that can't remember what they have already said to me. Then I catch them!! Also, if I suspect a liar, I prepare ahead of time, things that I know that they might use as excuses and that is also their downfall!
Good luck catching the liars!

are you also a lifetime fan!?! anyways, watch them very carefully, listen for talking very fast and changes in the voice, such as high pitched. watch their hands to see if they're playing with something random, like a coat zipper or shoe lace, hair or anything! watch their eyes to see if they are looking around, side to side, up and down, and heres the finale, ask them a question, then carefully reword it and see if the answer is the same, most of the time it isnt and then you can confirm that they are, 99.9 percent of the time, lying

I thought it was looking up to the left but looking up in general. Also, touching their face is common and changing the subject.

Ya watch thier facial expressions and the longer it takes for someone to answer a question the likely they are lying.
Good luck because there is always some one who can read you.

Usually when someone lies s/he doesn't look directly in the eyes, they seem to be pretty nervous fro nothing, or they might develop a tic
