I am developing an important essay on the issue of marriage is not important: please could you help me in finding out 3 or 4 reasons, that could weaken any type of opponent's argument ?

I guess one reason might be it eliminates women's rights: in india and some other countries when husban dies whether or not wife is youger she could not marry again. therefore its better to have relationship without getting married.

could you be more specific please? i mean you are not giving me 3 reasons but only complaning! please trey to figure out some reasons so that i can weaken my opponent's argument. its argumentative aeesay, i hope you will help me.

No, I won't help because marriage is important here. What happens in other countries is of little importance to me.

In that case of the elimination of women's rights what should be changed are the laws in India, marriage is not the cause of that elimination, it is actually the whole discrimination to women itself, it is a thing of their culture, that happens not just in marriage, but in almost any other thing there and in many other countries.
Why are you writing that essay? Marriage is important not just socially, but legally it brings many benefits...you are still on time to change the theme of your essay.

Marriage is not important if the person can not make a long and faithful committment.
- if the fiance is cheating prior to the marriage
- if the fiance is having drinking problem, or vices such as gambling or substance abuse
- last but not least if love does not exist in the relationship

Marriage is not important in regards to how much two individuals love each other. Marriage does not make them a better couple. It just means they are legally bound to each other.

My favorite thing to hear someone say is "It's just a piece of paper". My comment back to them is always "OK, let me have the title to your car....it's only a piece of paper!" Marriage is very important.
