is there any way I can take the subtitles off?

Sorry, but no. In this case, the subtitle was recorded into the image, so it is not something that you can turn on or off.

I have a surefire method so you won't see any of the subtitles: don't watch the movie.

Try to right click on your screen maybe theres something that will let you take the sub titles off, or maybe in the tools menu.
