Aspirin, tylenol and pain reliever works good. Also you can soak in a warm/ to hot bath with epsom salt if you really want to try something different. Make sure your getting enough protein and fluids so your body can repairing faster. Chicken breast, turkey, fish. Plenty of sleep is absolutly key. You be surprised how many athletes down play this, as they soon learn that there body is tearing down faster than it rapirs itself because of lack of sleep, You body does a lot while you rest such as release essencial hormones and ligament and muscle repair.

Use heat at 15 minute intervals. It will allow the blood vessels around the muscle to expand and bring more oxygen to the area. Don't over use though it can cause damage.
