I am three weeks from my due date. My doctor says it could be any day or could be the entire three weeks... Anyone with any experience at all please reply!!! This is my second child and I did not dialate at all before I went into labor with the first.

Your doctor is right. I was 2 centimeters for a while and ended up being induced 11 days early. That was because of my preeclympsa. You could stay dialated for 6 weeks. The only thing that really matters is if you are having contractions or your water breaks.

I went about 2 1/2 weeks being dialated to 2, went to the hospital w/ contractions and they sent me home because they weren't comsistant enough, so I ran on the treadmill and had sex next morning I was in full fledge labor.

i was dilated 3 cm for last 3 months of pregnancy, everything was normal, being dilated alone doesnt make you go into labor. I actually had to be induced because the little bugger refused to come out when it was past time!!! But once they gave me the pitocin, he flew out in no time, so I think being dilated for so long helped me have a very easy delivery.

Ahh.. due dates are so vague aren't they? 1cm isn't that much. If you feel comfortable doing it..it is okay to walk. I walked around in the hospital, dilated at 3cm... it was uncomfortable, but it eased the stress on my back. If you feel any sort of pain down there when you are walking, you might want to take it easy!! As always, check with your doc. He/She will tell you what is best for you and your baby. Just try not to do the steps at the football stadium okay?? Or marathons... or hiking in the woods...

I've been 4 cm for almost 3 weeks now and am still 2 weeks away from my due date.

I was dialated 2cm for a whole month....It can vary depending on your activity level. Its nothing to worry about its just your cervix getting ready for labour and delivery. Unless you are on special orders from you doc to take it easy, just do your everyday stuff...I wish you all the best and a safe and fast delivery!

my friend was dilated to like a 5 before she went to the hospital, she spent most of the last week at a 4 thou, it will take awhile to get to a 10 so just take it as it happens :) good luck

i would walk around as much as possible, the baby's head bouncing will make you dialate more and that is pain free dialation as opposed to dilating during contractions. walk , walk, walk, and walk!

When you've had a baby and are pregnant you're always 1cm dialated.
