First of all oxygen (O2) is not a compound. A compound has two or more different kinds of atoms. Other compounds are NaCl (salt), H2SO4 (sulfuric acid), CaCO3 (calcium carbonate), NaHCO3 (sodium bicarbonate), C6H12O6 (glucose), CH3 (methane), NH3
(ammonia), NaOH (sodium hydroxide), HCl (hydrochloric acid), HF (hydrofluoric acid), etc.

water (H2O) is a compound consisting of two hydrogen atoms bonded to an oxygen atom.

sulfuric acid, H2SO4 for a molecule that has no H-S bonds. A more descriptive presentation would be O2S(OH)2.

trifluoroacetic acid, CF3CO2H is composed of a covalent CF3CO2 ensemble. The H atom is attached to one oxygen through a polar covalent bond.

NaCl - salt

i dunno wut else, figure ti out urself, jeez. its not that hard
