As someone pointed out, there are innate differences between males and females for obvious reasons but I think that this question is getting at the problem of double standards in society as a whole. For example, why is a man a 'stud' (a non-derogatory label) when he sleeps with loads of women yet a woman is a 'sl.ut' (a derogatory label in any context)?

It's like in the workplace, men get paid more money than women for doing the same job (even though it is now against the law for companies to do this!). I got the nickname 'scareyclairey' in one of my previous workplaces, the reason? When we had company meetings in the boardroom (which for some was slightly intimidating), I wouldn't hesitate to get stuck in and debate the issues being raised whereas other females couldn't make their voices heard over the males or were cut off by male colleagues whilst in mid sentence before any didn't want it to happen again. I was not in any way aggressive in my manner, just assertive on the same level as the men, but just because I was a woman, I was seen as aggressive when I commanded the floor.

The level of patriarchy in all areas of society has, admittedly and thankfully, decreased over the last 10-20 years but there is still a long way to go before true equality in society exists, if indeed it ever will do.

I have a question.

Why do women seem to ask about 'Double Standards' only when it is in a male's favor?

When it's the female getting somehow 'ahead' most females can't be heard crying about double standards.

No offense intended of course, just an observation.

Don't know what the question was so no comment on that. The sexes are different (hope you noticed) and, even though legally men and women are equal, realistically men and women look at things differently. Before you ask, yes I relish the differences.

How do you know it was pulled simply based on gender?

Are you always quick to make such a judgement and assume it has to be based on gender?
