By the looks of things, people who've answered this question so far have taken it far to seriously. I take it from your sub-heading that this is a light-hearted question, so I'd like to suggest a few retirement jobs for "Our Lizzie"....

Part-time Charity Shop Worker (she could sell all her 'old' clothes, as she only wears them once)
Serve teas and coffee from a Women's Institute kiosk in a hospital (She's probably their patron saint anyway)
Get a job at B&Q (think she'd suit a nice orange overall)
Doctors Receptionist (always some craggy-faced battle axe in mine)
Tea-Time Chat show hostess (can't be any worse than Sharon Osbourne)
Etc. Etc...
Loads more I could think of, but you get the picture.

It will never happen she will pass on.

Charles would never give the throne straight to William, though it seems many British people would like to see that happen. It will not happen they are too traditional Charles will become King once his mother passes. Then William as long as he is still a live at the time , will become King after his father passes away. If something were to happen to Willam and he has no children then it would go to Harry, if William did have kids but they were too little. I think there would be advisor in till the child was old enough to actual take over probably 18 or 21

No clue... I think a suitable job would be Royal Jewel Polisher... She already knows the inventory and could probably get tips from the polisher before her...Of course, she would NEVER have to actually touch anything, more of an "advisor, of sorts " Sorry if I offend you , it just is so funny that so much emphasis is placed on "royalty"... What does the "royalty" actually do ??? Maybe she could be the "royal advisor", and give commentary on "royal things" such as how the princes are currently messing things up, sliding on silver trays down hill when drunk, because of their fathers promiscuity??? Go William, bad on you, Harry.... Sorry your father is a whoredog, but since you are "Royalty", I am sure it can be explained away as a job description... Really, boys, I am sorry your father could not manage to keep it in his pants... Your Mother was an exceptional woman in so many respects, and beautiful to boot...I am so sorry she is still not here for you...Life is not fair...

Her Majesty may have another 20 years or more during which she can Reign. The Sovereigns of Britain and her other Realms beyond the sea rarely "Rule" now, but there are many powers latent ... and if Her Majesty's Armed Forces are loyal to her, she could provide stability if some politician or public servant decided to take the country in a direction that the people did not want.

She will never abdicate.
She saw the effect having the monarchy thrust on him did to her father & she would never put Charles through that. and besides, the woman is no idiot & must realise that most of the British public do not want him as King.

HM Queen will never abdicate, its not in the nature of the British Monarchy.

She said in a speech from my home town in 1947...

"There is a motto which has been borne by many of my ancestors ... 'I serve'. Those words were an inspiration to many bygone heirs to the Throne when they made their knightly dedication as they came to manhood. I cannot do quite as they did. But through the inventions of science I can do what was not possible for any of them. I can make my solemn act of dedication with a whole Empire listening. I should like to make that dedication now. ... I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great Imperial family to which we all belong. But I shall not have the strength to carry out this resolution alone unless you join in it with me, as I now invite you to do: I know that your support will be unfailingly given. God help me to make good my vow, and God bless all of you who are willing to share in it."

See. The Lady isn't a quitter.

You Brits are lucky to have her, & I don't think you realise it.

HM will never abdicate - there is no one who can be trusted to take her place.

But if she were to abdicate, wouldn't she make the most delightful "Hollywood" gossip columnist, wouldn't she, just. Anonymously, of course. So all you peers and peerettes had better start toeing the line.
