I am in the 10th grade and taking Algebra II. Which math should I take as a junior and a senior?

I don't know how different school label their math programs. I just remember math as:
Algebra 1,2
Geometry
Algebra 3,4
Math Analysis
Calculus

I don't know what "math analysis" is at other schools. I guess it's like trig. What math did you already complete? Most people are suggesting geometry/trig, so I guess if your Algebra II is the equivalent to my Algebra 3,4, trig and calc would be the answers.

The courses I took from 7th grade on are as follows:
7th: Pre-algebra/Algebra I
8th: Plane-solid-coordinate Geometry
9th- Algebra II/Trigonometry
10th- Precalculus

Errr, and that's it so far. Take the course you think you can handle best. I'd say most people take either Trig or Precalc after Algebra II.

HI. If you are doing pretty good in math now try taking harder courses like physics or chemsitry.

I work in the high tech indusitry. Engineering jobs are going overseas and if you are good in math I would strongy urge you to consider a engineer career. Why? They design, create things from computers, to computer chips. PLUS the work is actually very easy and the pay is extremely high. Next to dr and lawyers there is not much else paying as much!

The industries including the gates foundations are just aching to throw money your way for college and some will pay your tuition and pay you for summer internships. Not much pays as good as the high tech internships.

Some have been known to pay a stipend or income while you in college to stay in college. Not bad huh?

Check out eningeering grants and scholarships on google and the bill and malinda gates foundation on the net as well.

happy studies!

Depends on your grades. When I was a junior, I took College Algebra and then as a senior, I took trigonometry. Or you can go straight to trigonometry and then calculus as a senior.

It depends upon what you want to do in life. We didn't have a whole lot of choices, trig was included in pre-calculus - then you could take calculus.

But, I took algebra in 8th grade, then geometry 9th and algebra II in 10th. Have you taken geometry?

pre-calculus looks awfully good on college applications, even if you are not a math/science oriented person. probability & statistics (ap stats, if it is offered in your school) should be for your senior year. i'm in that class right now and it is definitely less strenuous than calculus/algebra stuff, and it's a good way to end 4 years of math.

i've heard that trigonometry is pretty useless of a course. many of my friends have dropped that one.

Trig as a junior, calculus as a senior.

11th grade I took Trig. 12th I took Prob&Stats. It at least got me into a good college, even though I don't use it at all. :)
