He was with Boston for 2004. Then he went to the Mariners and got injured in Spring Training. I haven't heard anything else. Where is he? What happened to him?

According to Wikipedia, he hasn't officially retired. He didn't make contact with anyone after he did not attend practices for the Marlins this spring training.

He signed with the Marlins before spring training, but did not show up for some practices in February or March. Then a few days later his agent reported that he was injured and had decided to retire. He had a heck of glove for the Red Sox in 2004

He had the starting job in spring training, he started listening to Bruce Springsteen's song hungry heart, " took a wrong turn and I just kept going oh Dan Uggla thanks him

I think he retired after he tried out for the Yankees and couldn't make the team.
