When food is in the intestines, the body uses osmosis/ Absorption to collect the nutrients and water from the food. this process may release methane gas as by product and when the intesting is saturated (full) of gas, the body involuntarily (most of the time) expells the gas through the rectum. when the body is full of food/ fecal matter, it sends a signal to the person to prepare for number 2.
