I'm about to make my very first "real" cheesecake (meaning baked, not an icebox one). The directions say to protect the pan with foil then put into baking dish with water. (Like making rice pudding or other custard)

Have you ever done it that way? Is it better? Is it yummy? What is it precious? What's it like precious? ;)

See you later with creamcheese in my hair.

Hmmm.... i've never heard of a cheesecake recipe that involves puttin pans in water...... for my cheesecake i just mix the creamcheese and stuff and pour the mixture into the pan and slip it in the fridge for either a few hours or for better results, overnight.

It probably means to put in baking dish within another larger pan and surround the baking dish with warm water.
