I couldn't agree more. These "cool" people think they don't care about their hearing, we'll see when they're deaf by age 40. Also, I'm pretty sure that when a person drives by with their speakers blasting NOBODY is thinking, WoW they're cool. Its not cool to try so hard. In fact most people are just plain irritated by it. There is a difference between loud music and just plain annoying. I like to rock out in my car but I'm not going to turn the bass all the way up and Buy some huge sub woofers just so people hear the sound of my car rattling and some indecipherable noise that doesn't even sound like music.

ahahahhahaha hey remember when you were in School .. 20 years ago ... we all played the music loud. And back in the DAY your parents would allways say Do you need to listen to LED ZEPPPELIN that loud..... and you would turn it down because you wernt allowed to use your parents $100.00 earphones... BUt yeah I DONT enjoy at 10 oclock being bounced out of sleep by some punks car stero ..... I think that its a form of maturity... It doesnt appeal to us any more because we are.. lts face it OLD....
Think of it this way.... lets hope its not our kids steros we are talking about ... and lets hope that all the kids doing this go deaf.Because at least we are old ...and can still hear Led Zeppelin.. I cant say that much for the kids these days ... Our taxes will buy hearing aides...... I wonder if any one has ever broke house windows with there car stereo. ?HUMMMMMM

I can see the points made about the music being irratating to others but I am one of those that like the music loud. I get into the music so much better when it's blaring - I guess it's just my guilty pleasure. It's nothing about "being cool" - I can care less what people think about me. Actually, riding around with the music so loud you can hear it 3 blocks away doesn't make you look cool - kinda the oposite. You look like a jerk.
But what can I say? I love it loud. At least I'm being honest :)

It is just another way for those with shortcomings to advertise themselves. It is sad, really, when you think of it. I resent the fact that rude people feel the need to inflict their (usually crappy) music on me and my immediate vicinity. A recent survey has shown that those who drive around in cars with stereo systems blasting and booming and thumping actually have very low IQ ratings, are usually illiterate, have more than one DWI conviction, and are most likely to dribble thier dip juice down the front of their shirt.

During a rock concert the music is very loud.
You not only hear it you feel it.
Many people want this same experience at home.
Everyone wants the world in their house
We have movie theathers at home with big huge TV's
We have concerts at home with giant speakers
We have the world in home with internet.
We bring our work into the home too.
Bring the world into your home and you can live anywhere.
