I'm 12. I cut myself and my mom said that I am going to get a tetanus shot and stitches when my dad gets home. The shot is bad enough, I'm freaked out enough about that, but what do they numb you with for stiches???? What do stitches feel like?????

You need to be prepared for this. So, to be honest, first they will prepare your wound for the stitches. They will clean it, yes that will hurt, then they will give you a tetanus shot, and yes that will hurt. Then you get another shot or more depending on the size of the wound. These shots will be very close to the edge of your wound, so yes that will hurt. Then when it's numb, they will sew it. The good part is that you are not going to feel it. That will not hurt, although it looks kinda funny.
You'll be ok afterward, just sore.
It's better than getting lockjaw or bleeding to death.

They usually give you a local anesthia for it, which will numb the area and you wn't feel a thing. They really are no big deal. I got stiches at a younger age and it really wasn't anything. Shot really isn't any big deal either, just don't watch them put the needle in and you won't feel it.

Not too bad. Depending on the area you get them in it's more annoying than painful. I've had to get them a couple of times and the ones I got usually fall out on their own after a week. You may want to put some neosporin on them to keep it from getting infected and avoid strenuous activity.
