Normally, you'd have 4 years of college, then 4 of medical school, then an internship/residency period. I'm not certain what that is for pediatrics, but I'm guessing another 2-4 years...

in the United States most medical schools require a 4 year bachelors degree to enroll. Medical school curriculum is 4 years (2 of lectures and lab, 2 of hospital rotations). Post graduate training for pediatrics is 3 years. Any sub-specialization or fellowships will add to that time accordingly
