They have the absolute worst sound quality, all mp3 players have better sound quality, they have the fewest features, they are years behind all other mp3 players and they cost the most. Every time I let an ipod owner listen to my Creative mp3 player they are blown away by the sound quality, and that is the point of an mp3 player isn't it? The ipod is a fashion article with a bad mp3 player in it. Archos is about 5 years ahead of Apple technologically while Creative has the best sound and is about 3 years ahead of Apple tech. Apple has cheap components in fancy packaging and has the worst customer support in the business. And itunes has low quality files at a premium price.

I don't buy songs from them so I don't really care about the prices!

Personally, I think IPods look nicer than the others - they have a nice, sleek, minimalist look to them and I like the fact there is not a whole list of thing you have to sift through before you hear a song! I've never had a problem with mine and I think the sound quality is great. Nothing beats the sound of music on a good proper stereo anyway :)

You say that "all mp3 players have better sound quality"? I beg to differ - the last mp3 player I had was absolute crap and there are many more terrible ones out there than the IPod so I think that was a bit of an exaggeration ;)

I completely understand what you are saying. I have never been particularly impressed with ipods or disappointingly the Sony Walkman which my sister bought and had no end of troubles with. Although I use iTunes (my mobile is the Motorola E1 ROKR) as an mp3 player I use my hp jornada Pocket PC. It might not be as slim and pretty looking as the ipod and other mp3 players, but I can have unlimited storage as it takes Compact Flash cards, and as it uses Windows Media Player, I never have trouble when trying to sync my music (unless I have downloaded from Apple etc.) Also it has Microsoft Word etc, which are very useful on the go. In terms of music files, I still find it much more convenient to buy CDs as I have had so much trouble downloading from MSN Music etc. So, for now I share your disbelief at why people think ipods are good. I'm sure however that many people have never had the problems you have mentioned and for some the ipod is perfect. I'm not sure I will ever get one. I must say however, that having 100 songs on a mobile is quite fun and for this reason I am grateful iTunes on the Motorola phone.

remember what number songs u haveand what style of ipod, cuz extra desirable ipods have a truthfully proccessor and if thats bumped in the slightest way whilst its on ur ipod is toast. on the different hand a small ipod like a nano or a mini they use flash reminiscence and donnt die as truthfully yet a MP3 is a stronger determination harm sensible yet they do carry much less songs so it concerns what u desire extra song then its lots extra probable to have the participant die, or much less songs and not would desire to be bothered bout it so it only concerns what u desire

IPOD is the ultimate "must-have" accessory, if you listened to one with a pair of grado s60 headphones, i guarantee it would trounce the creative thingy.....
the player is only as good as the tunes within.. all mp3 doesn't sound that great.. listen to a ddd recorded CD or mini disc and hear the difference..... mini disc sounds 10x better than mp3.., it's just mp3 is slightly more convenient

Probably because they are good mp3 players but you are just being incredibly biased up there on your Creative high horse.

I don't blame you. You know what else is wrong with iPod? No variety. It has been some years and there is only three or four types of iPods out. And whats with iTunes, its ridiculous.

Totally agree. I love my creative mp3 player. Its nice and small and it doesnt weigh me down, so i can use it in the gym or walkin to college. And 1 giga byte is plenty for n e 1, thats 1000 songs like! i only keep the recent songs on mine for a limited time till I get sick of em, n e way... Wat is with these gigantic ipods eh??!

I think they work just fine, the sound quality is normal and I'm not complaining.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions.
