after teh amaranth crash, etf, it may go lower. A lot of oil contracts that were made for higher prices have all failed and many are now on the downside of the makret. Of course (I am a republican btw) corporations are mostly republican voters and do not want to see precious tax cuts leave their site and will help get the reps back in power by lowering the price. Also it depends on the chance of war with Iran, if the chances are high expect hgiher prices. 7-Eleven also cancelled their oil contract with Citgo, a Venezuelan company which actually will help lower the price, considering their is no fear of venezuela or the US placing restrictions or embargos for this product. Oklahoman and Albertan wells are at full blast, and the hurricane season looks very bleak this year. Overall, my opinion is that oil will go lower, my target price is $58-60 a barrell.

The gasoline retail industry in the US is very cyclical in that prices go up in the summer when demand is high and prices go down in the winter when demand is lower. The amount of movement in price is dependent on many factors and the results of the US elections should have only a minimal affect on the price.

Gas is always lower in November, after the big travel season, but before heating oil affects supply. Barring some political or military event in the Middle East, the price will rise somewhat from late November, when heating oil starts getting used every day, until February, when winter begins to tail off.

The lowest it's been here so far (in western Indiana...near Illinois) has been $1.98 but it just went up to $2.05 yesterday. I don't really see what the elections would have to do with gas prices, but we'll see.
