My computer at work has messed up. I'm missing files. I tried to re set-up Internet Explorer & what it did was uninstall it instead of reinstall it. So now I can't get on the internet. Explorer won't open. I can check my work e-mail. Is there a way to email something to my work email address that I can double-click on & then it will install. I cannot get on the internet to download it.

1.) Talk to your IT technician. He'll be able to fix it faster than you can.
2.) If you don't have one, ask someone who the computer geek is in the company.
3.) Download it at home, burn it to CD and pop it in your work computer.
4.) Do yourself a huge, huge favour - Use Firefox instead.

Internet Explorer 6 is big, slow, out of date, lets in ad-ware, lets sites install all kinds of nasties, isn't standards compliant, is extremely inflexible... and hasn't been worked on in years.

Firefox is a mere 5 MB download, sleek, fast, up to date, much more secure (it won't let sites install software or ad-ware), it's much more standards compliant (it shows pages the way their supposed to look), and is very, very customizable.
Firefox also naturally blocks pop-ups and with a couple free add-ons you'll rarely see a banner ad, iframe ad, flash ad or other image ad again.

If your company lets you, use a different browser

Is it your job to mess with your work computer?

Go to the local news agent and look for a magazine with CDs attached, there are plenty of them. Look at the contents to see if it has IE6. I haven't seen one in a while though, mostly they are offering IE7.
