It's holy if you're fighting to save lives. Let's not forget the Christian Crusades and the holy wars proclaimed in the Bible against the Canaanites and other groups. You see that God did proclaim holy wars in his name in the past.

No, not any war can be called Holy.
Holy Jihad does not represent Islam. Some of the Criminals use this name to get a support from all of the Muslims.

Any war happened can not be called Holy. Why? bec. is there any Holy if somebody died there? Actually they used the word Holy Jihad in order they can get more supporters. Only foolish people support this foolish things.

You are right. I can never accept that. I do sympathize with Muslims though. With Pope sanctioned holy wars pounding the term into their head for 200 years, it takes awhile to realize their is no such thing. Then when Christians attack you again just so people can be re-elected what's the difference what you call it?

In the sense of History. Most wars in the past were because of religious beliefs. In the old times they pushed their religion with the sword, not with the pencil. You can call a war whatever you want to call it- it's still a war and if they can convince their people that they will go to heaven for dying for their cause then they will call it a holy war.

No Leogirl, Muslims don't call any war holy.
Most war in history are started for religious reasons. WHat's interesting is that most religion in the world, (that include not only Islam, but Christianity as well) all says they love peace.
