I have read the poem "A julio de Burgos" and translated it into English. It appears to be a poem about Julia being a split person, two different kinds of women.
My question is, does anyone actually know what the poem is really about and how i could summarize it to make a 5 minute oral presentation? here is a link to the poem in Spanish

it's the last poem on the right

Thanks

Evidently, Julia de Burgos is talking to herself, dividing her nature into two different and completely opposite (complementing, maybe) parts. One of them is her essence, as the poem says, the other one is her facade, the appearance of what she seems (or believes) she is.

You could talk about the dual nature of some women, the ability of being in charge of two totally different things. You could also argue that maybe the author is expressing what she wanted to be, and what she really is. Somehow, through the poem, she lives a secondary existence, where it is possible she is the one she's always hidden...

What do you think???
