He's dating a commoner now - Kate. But I think it will be awhile before he marries (he's 24). It's too soon to call.

Well, first we have to define the term commoner. I mean, considering royalty's high status, even nobles, lords, and ladies are commoners. But commoner is a different term for us, "the commoners". And also when it comes to being common in the British Royal Family, what if he marries someone who was born into the poor and/or middle classes of America. That would be considered so low, maybe a different status of commoner to a British royal. And what will be the future queen's occupation at the time of meeting William? I mean, chances are the girl might be "common" but she won't be an average commoner, and she may or may not even be American.

It's more likely that Prince William will marry a commoner. There is currently a shortage of eligible princesses, so if he didn't want to marry a commoner, he would need to look to the aristocracy for a mate.
Many heirs to the throne have married commoners:
Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark married Australian Mary Donaldson
Crown Prince Wilhem-Alexander of the Netherlands married Argentinian Maxima Zorreguieta
Crown Prince Haakon of Norway married single mother, Mette Marit Tjessem Høiby
Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan married Masako Owada
Crown Prince Felipe of Spain married Letizia Ortiz
The only exception to this has been Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium who married Mathilde d'Udekem d'Acoz, who came from an aristocratic background.
For Prince William to marry a commoner might not be such a bad thing. First of all, he would have more choice and second, all of the heirs to the throne who have married commoners, their brides have been lauded for bringing a breath of fresh air to their respective monarchys.

Kate is fun for now, but William has no idea of getting married for quite some time, and she likely won't want to wait that long. Grannie likely doesn't hold much enthusiasm for commoners, as the last couple (Fergie and Diana) caused a HUGE disruption in the royal family. Camilla is a commoner too, and there's no great outpouring of love and enthusiasm for her.
By the time William decides to marry, when he's 35 or so, he'll probably turn to one of his European of Scandinavian cousins.
Are you going to the wedding?

I think he will mostly likely marry a Commoner. He seems very happy with Kate but commented a year or two ago that he was too young to be thinking about marriage. If he marries her I think it will be when he is in his late 20’s to early 30’s
Almost all of the Royals are some how inter-related. Prince Philip is part of the Greek Royal family, he gave up his title when he married Elizabeth but he is still related to them.
I also saw that Harry and William are some how cousins of some form to the Royal family in Sweden

Neither. The royals hardly ever marry other royals anymore, the reasons for it (alliances with other countries etc) are no longer necessary.
He'll most likely marry Kate middleton, for all those people who think she's a commoner, I don't know whether to laugh or cry....She's a rich memeber of the landed aristocracy, not a commoner.

A commoner - there has not been an expectation that the heir to the throne has to marry another royal for decades. The last to do so was George V in the 1890s. The field is too small if they still stuck to royals.

It could be any of the two. But probably commoner over royalty.
You are also forgetting celebrities. If William wanted to he could marry a movie star

Most of the people who answered spoke of William as being the `wild' one, but look a little closer! It's Harry who donned the Swastika, Harry who did the drugs, got drunk, Harry who plagerised his university essay. etc. William is rather serious underneath and he takes his role and the traditions of the monarchy very seriously. He's very much aware that after all of the scandals of the 90's in his family, it's up to him to bring a note of sobriety back to the Royal Family. He is VERY respectful of the wishes of the Queen, and the Queen Mother before she died. I don't see anything but responsibility in him and whether there is a suitable ROYAL awaiting him doesn't matter: he'll marry who he likes (lessons learned from BOTH parents) but it will be someone who will be eminently suitable for the job.

Probably a commoner. They are already related to most other royalty and cannot afford to go another generation without a fresh injection of new genetic material or we really will see some freaks.
