A lot of people are more comfortable in different situations. Maybe at school you just don't feel as at home and talkative in that organized environment.

No, I don't think that is weird. I think your parents probably taught you when you should be loud, and outgoing and shouldn't be. You know when you should act well-behaved in appropiate places and times, respectful.
