no the heartbeat doesnt have anything to do with the sex. That is just an old wives tale. My baby's heart beat has been 150 to 160 my entire pregnancy and I am having a boy. My best friend is also pregnant and only a week behind me and her baby's heart beat ranges the same as mine and she is having a girl. There's nothing wrong with either of our babies either. So I would just wait for an ultrasound to be sure, its not a good idea to go by the heartbeat. Congrats on being pregnant though.

That is just an old wives tale. There is no reliable connection. But since the people who tell you have a 50-50 shot at being correct those rumors persist even though their basis is bunk.

I know one family who were all set for their second child being another girl and then were surprised to find that it was a perfect boy not positioned to be visible well on the ultrasound. I know of another in which a family was asked early on whether they wanted to know the final answer. They said no but assumed that the ultrasound had shown a penis. No that one was a girl.

That is just one of the many old wives tales that there is no real proof of. It is no more accurate than dangling a ring or a needle on a string over your stomach and seeing how it turns. They can all be fun, but none are foolproof. Even ultrasound techs have been known to be wrong. The only thing that is foolproof is anything that tells you through genetic testing what the chromosomes are. (xx for girl and xy for boy). Otherwise the chance is only 50/50 that your guess is right.

that is so silly. No, every baby has a heart rate between 120 and 160, no matter if it's a boy or girl.

Nope, it is an old wives tale. It will faster early in the pregancy and eventually slow down. My baby's started at 160 at 8 wks, at 21 wks it is down in the 130s.

thats just an old wives tale. the only way you can tell the sex is from an ultrasound at 20-22 weeks!

It's not accurate. I was suppose to be a boy, according to my heart rate, but my mom got stuck with a lot of blue clothes!

over 150 is usally a girl...under a boy...but you may be having a boy but the heartrate is high because it is moving around. ITs a 50/50 guess
