Gold is also is isometric and commonly octahedral while rarely showing faces of the dodecahedron, cube, and trapezohedron [113}. It has a hackley fracture and is very malleable and ductile. Its high specific gravity ~19.3, distinguishes it from pyrite. It is inert and only soluble in aqua regia.

Here is a question for you, streak is a valuable diagnostic characteristic of many minerals. How do you determine streak?
