I have been married for 9 years and I think that normal is about 3 to 4 times a week on average.
I must admit that sometimes I have a lot on my plate and I get tired and it may only be twice a week and when my husband complains I simply ask him what does he want quality or quantity??
I don't know if I am right or wrong here but I reckon that if I wanted it every day or even every second day my husband couldn't keep up anyway, even though he carries on like he could.
All I know is that he is a very happy and contented man after a good night of love and a very cranky and unhappy man if he misses out.

hope I don't offend you.....
while married to my ex-husband, we had sex 4-6 / week...... and I enjoyed it; however, not that this matters, we divorced because it was the only thing we had in common. Nevertheless, intimacy was good. That was 4 yrs. ago.
I am now married to a much better person, yet he is awful in that department, so we never have it, maybe 3 x a month.
So, this is what I, as a woman, say to men:
It isn't all her that's not into it, you have to know what you are doing, focus on her needs first, don't treat her like crap during the day and expect the 'wild thang' at night. Take care of her in the bedroom, and eventually, she will take care of you!
Another thing... depending on your ages, if she is in her late 20's - early 30's she hasn't reached the plateau that will eventually surface, and arousal can be a little dull, that is, unless you are a superman in bed, but once she gets past the early 30's, watch out, she will rock your world!

Depends on if you have like desires and like drives. Make sure you agree to what happens between you two. That can slow down or even cause a relationship to end, sexually. Make sure you both are not tired and that you don't drop the romance and the surprise. Be loving, always. Even after 20 years, four times a week is not unusual, nor is 5 or 6 times either. Make it happen for BOTH of you.

What's "normal" is what works for the two of you...what's "average" is about once a week, but of course since that's the average that means most couples have more or less than that.
Don't worry how often others do it...that doesn't matter...it's not a keep up with the joneses kind of thing...y'all need to be having it enough that you are both satisfied with the frequency, and if one of you is not, you need to be discussing it and seeing if you can work something out to change that.

My husband and I didn't have sex our entire marriage (8 yrs). I used to say the same thing as your friends: "I just want a normal sexual relationship." And my husband would say the same basic thing you did: "what's normal?"
Now we're separated over the issue.

since everyone is different, there is no such thing as "normal"
My hub and I do it all the time. He is usually the one who wants it and I find it in me to comply. If I don't someone else will.
