I'm just asking this, and don't know what my real opinion is.
Most people say that the woman should have absolute control over her body: i.e. whether or not she has a baby or gets an abortion is her decision. I agree.
However,
Doesn't that also mean that a man should have the decision of whether or not he wishes to support that child?

I want honest answers, but I will ignore raw hipocracy.

I mean, if a woman can't be forced to be a parent, why should a man?

just because you sign off your parental rights, doesn't mean you are not liable to pay child support.

look, men do have that decision. don't have sex with that woman. plain and simple. if you don't want to get sterilized, use a condom, trust your partner and know she is taking birth control.

if i am not mistaken, they are coming up with a male form of birth control. so once that is available, take it.

once the child is alive and breathing, it is both the parents responsibility to take care of that child. no matter what.

What about father's rights. A woman can choose to abort a child the father wants. He has no say or choice. What would your spin on that be?

Believe it or not there are men who choose not to support their children even when those children were wanted by him from conception. There are deadbeat dads galore. How many divorced women with children have never seen a dime of child support. These men choose to help make these children, then one day they up and decide to disappear.

A man participate as much as the woman in the creation of that child. If he wanted to be 100% sure he did not procreate, he should either have a vasectomy, abstain, or at the very least take responsibility for the birth control. Most of the time men put the burden of birth control on the women. If you are going to give women full responsibility then men have to be willing to accept the consequences of an occational oops.

The man's decicion comes at the time of copulation; if he didn't want to risk having a child he shouldn't copulate.
After that, he must pay because he made the decision to impregnate the woman. She had the right to have the baby if she wanted.

Agreed. Non child support is a man's way of aborting.
