Batman. Batman is more human and deals with issues that humans can relate to. His opponents also are also humans in origin.
Superman is like a "god" amongst mankind as he is strong, doesn't seem to get sick. I would think he treats his newspaper life as a joke because he does most things so easily. No ordinary human could harm him and the opponents that superman face are very far-fetched.
People would readily relate to batman more than superman when faced with dificult situations in life.

Batman is better to watch and to read about, because Superman is so good it is boring. plus he's just too far above the norm. He can see through almost anything, he can fly, he has abnormal strength. Yuck. at that point it is just waiting to see if the writers came up with any creative uses for him to use his powers.
Batman has to work a little harder for it, so there is more suspense. He actually has to use his brain and think through the consequences of his actions.
Besides all that, Batman has a believable secret identity. There is a little more to it than taking off the glasses. (They make the people that are close to superheros so dumb sometimes.)

It depends on what we're talking about.
In a fight: Superman, hands down. Superman's from space and somehow gains strength from the glow of our sun whereas Batman's just a rich guy who works out alot.
Who's a better person: Superdickery.com has proven time and time again that Superman is a total asshole. Batman's on there too but he doesn't seem to deny people water when they're dying of thirst as much.

They're both better in thier own ways.
Superman is an icon and a symbol of hope to common people. Clark's a simple farm boy, doing what he knows he should. He's humble and modest, but is also willing to get the job done, no matter what. He also has a sense of justice that would make many blush and enough power to really save the world.
Batman is a symbol of fear to the criminal element. He's brutal, effective and absolutely brilliant. There's a reason why Bruce is the world's greatest detective- he has to be to survive in his world. Bruce has often told Clark that he wouldn't survive in his world, which is really the truth.
Clark is better in the daylight for all to see, Bruce is better in the shadows, striking fear in the heart of his targets.

Batman! I say this because in all actuality a batman really could exist. Batman has no "superpowers" he relies purley on human technoligy and his own fighting skill and strength. That and batman is soooo much hotter.
