Over the past few days I have noticed a small lump appear on the shaft, it does hurt when touched, and looks like bruising around it on the skin. Any ideas as to should i goto the doc's now or see if the problem goes away?

You should go to the doctor if it doesn't go away in a few days. It could be a multitude of things, but if it is unfortunately a STD then you don't want that to go untreated.

When you call the doctors you have a right to challenge any receptionist if they ask you first what the symptoms are. They are not medically qualified to make assessment if you should be given an earlier appointment or not.

You may have a boil/abscess/insect bite but it is always advisable to see that doctor with regards to any changes on your penis.

I should go to the docs it might be a harmless cyst or perhaps insect bite but they can give you proper advise and cream if needed

Could be a million different things based on your description - anything from a benign cyst to syphillis. Go see a doctor, even a urologist couldn't diagnose stuff like that on here, nevermind us lot.

ah i had the same thing once, its so embarrasing, but the worst bit is b4 you decide to do anything cos u'll just worry, if i were you id do what i did and just tell/show the docter, they do it all the time and can sort you out pretty quick,

hope this helps

Go to the docs if it is painful, and no, you don't disclose your problem to the receptionist.

Nope you do not have to give the receptionist any details at all. It is not their job to know, they won't even ask.

put some A&D ointment on the area, and see if it goes away, it doesnt seem to be bad, give it a day or two

its probably a symbiotic parasite. the only way to remove it is to cut the shaft off with a cigar guilotine
