Have you ever read Edgar Casey or the Revelations ? Also the new Mel Gibson film Apolitical (sp?) The Egyptian and Mayan calendars finish with 2012, but as to WW3, the new order may come with earth changes instead, ie., the earth changing it's rotation on its axis.

ww3 can start just about at any time. But that will not mean the end of the world, just another messy war. These islamofascists may have the will, but they don't have the means to seriously endanger the world

About as likely as it was in October 1962. The world didn't end then and it won't end now. There will always be wars, always be competing religions, or political ideologies. (And if you don't know what happened in October 1962, you should).
