When I was in Jr. High I used to read Christopher Pike. They were suspenceful and fun. I also got into reading classics like Catcher in the Rye. Go Ask Alice is an awsome book, I read it every few years still. It's great, if you like that book you would like Jay's Journal. Same principle, just a boy this time. And they are true stories. Check them out!!

Tolken books like The Hobbit series, V.C. Andrews Flowers in the Attic, Janet Evanovich books are great like One for the Money or maybe A Wrinkle in Time -- there's also the Left Behind series, those are all great books.

A fairly new series come out and soon to hit movie theatres...
A trilogy ( i have yet to find and read the 3rd book)

1. Eragon by Christopher palioni (sp)
2. Eldest "
3. Inheritance ( I have yet to find& read)
Im usually not one for fantasy books, I like the idea but they usually cant keep my imgination for long .. but these books are great!
They are simple to read and understand and yet they tell a complex story.
Good read hard to put down.

King Fortis the Brave would be a good choice. It's about a pair of twelve-year-old twins that are pulled into a magical world where they are caught up in the fight for control of the land. It's funny and exciting and perfect for a girl in Jr. High.

I would recommend Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson or What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones. Both are great books.

I recommend Jacob Have I Loved, to you. Truly, I'm giving you a gift. This book is wonderful and speaks to the alienation all Junior High kids feel at one time or another. About a girl, jealous of her twin, on a small island off of Maryland and Virginia (USA).
