ok, i really really think you should go here:

blackout on endell street in covent garden london WC2.

its absolutley brilliant, you can choose vintage dresses from every era from this crazy busy little shop. the woman who owns it knows everything and will help with accessories

i think getting a prom dress has to reflect your personality and it has to be a bit out there coz there isn't gonna be many chances to shine so go for it and try something different!! ie; not next or monsoon-sorry!! other shops to try if you like these are;

rockit and laden show room on brick lane
bang bang on goodge street
secondo mano on islington upper street
any shop down camden passage which is also in Angel

i always get my birthday/special event outfits plus accessories from these shops and they're always a winner!!

have fun x

Fraser's on Oxford Street has all sort of evening wear - and when they do sales they tend to be good ones. Monsoon is a pretty fair bet as their stuff tends to be beautiful and again they do quite big sales - Only problem is finding big enough store they re all ways quite small! Debenhams is quite good also but I find some of there stuff a bit - 'old' having said that they have some fantastic designers such as Jasper Conran designing a collection just for them which means that you get designer at fraction of the price. Otherwise you could go and have a look around some of the boutiques around Kensington/ Chelsea if your looking for a real one off - Just be prepared for the prices.!

if you come out of Finsbury Park tube station and take a right. The WHOLE road is full of shops that primarily sell dresses, accessories, shoes etc.... All for special occasions like weddings, prom, dinners, parties etc...

So hope that helps.
