It's sort of pricey, but the Givenchy brand of eye shadow has a really great bronze color and it goes on so nicely. I never realized the difference between good and bad shadows until someone gave me the Givenchy as a gift. Now it is all I use. It look so smooth and stays on all day. I really like it a lot. Maybe you can go to a department and try it as a sample before you spend the money on it, but I'm sure you'll love it too.

All the lines have bronze from cheap ones to check your wallet expensive.
