surely they will stop producing these arts simply because the profit will have dissapeared, or will revenue be made through lucrative advertising?

Hmmm, you have a point there! my people always ask me why I buy original cds instead of saving & downloading/burning. I think its the right thing to do.

They will go bust if they continue down curent route. Though there are ways to combat it, The playstation 3 Blu ray system will be interesting.
The industry has clamped down i would say on handicam jobs donw at the cinema, but while in Vietnam and pasrts of Africa I saw high quality pirates of copies that are sent out to critics etc. Thats where they need to clamnp down. - screenings only.
Next step is creativity pls FFS NO MORE REMAKES, I can only assume its an American thing "Leave no film behind"
